Wishing to decorate an evacuation of rainwater, I started creating gargoyles ten years ago. The beauty of the object, its symbolism seduced me. I turn to the realization of absolute chimeras, inexhaustible subject, where I can let my imagination wander.
Among my gargoyles, there are chimeric, figurative, medieval, kind and nasty. These are all unique pieces, signed with the initials CL. They are made of sandstone clay, fired for the first time at 1650°F and then enamelled with a so-called "sandstone" firing between 2100°F and 2350°F. This sandstone firing gives them the property of resisting frost and weather. They can be used in their primary purpose to evacuate rainwater (they all fit on a pipe of 3,15 in) or simply as an unusual object of outdoor or indoor decoration.
